My friend Kathy announced yesterday on Facebook that it was Draw a Bird Day in the UK yesterday. So, I drew a bird. This is from a photo I took of a bird which landed on a branch outside my office window. I usually miss getting a photo of the vibrantly colored ones so I was happy to catch this guy.

Here's another painting I did using the Procreate App on the iPad. I sat on the couch with my reference photo on my iPhone, painting on my iPad. No mess, no set up, no clean up time. While I certainly enjoy actual paints, there is a great appeal to the ease of whipping out the iPad and painting away. I mentioned a while back having an interest in purchasing a pochade box for painting on the go. I think I may have found the perfect pochade, in a completely unexpected package with a shiny Apple on the back.

I got an iPad for my birthday this year :D and have been searching for a good painting app. After reading a lot of reviews, I downloaded Procreate a few days ago and painted this apple last night. It was a ton of fun to use and is my reining favorite!
