Abstract
5x7
Oil on Masonite
I want two large abstract paintings for my family room and have decided to try to create them myself. I decided to start really small and see what happens and hey, if by some miracle I create "the one(s)" then maybe I'll just scan them in at really high resolution and order them blown up on canvas from ImageKind.com. Here was my first attempt, well, actually truth be told, it's my second attempt but the first attempt is going in the trash.
Quite exquisite, Darlene. The blue towards the lhs does pull me eye out of frame a little but those gorgeous swirling reds and ochres more than make up fir it. Simply beautiful :)

ReplyDeleteI love it too Darlene! Layfolks don't understand how difficult it is to do abstract well. Control and knowing when to stop were the key to your success here young lady. Love it.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Thank you guys!!! I've been feeling very unsure of myself since this is such uncharted territory for me. It's so nice to hear such encouraging words!

ReplyDeleteLove the rich reds and movement. Nicely done, Darlene!
ReplyDeleteLove this piece . It has such great movement. You should do a series and the colors a great so rich , very nice keep -em coming.....
ReplyDeleteMaybe a little more of the blue swirling towards the lower right. But so easy to overdo it. Really like the rich reds and ochres. Good job. Fun to see the companion piece
